Peter Vaines originally qualified as a chartered accountant and was a tax partner in a firm of accountants for many years. Prior to joining Field Court Tax Chambers he was a tax partner in an international firm of lawyers where he was involved in a number of major tax cases.

Mr Vaines advises on all areas of personal and corporate taxation with particular emphasis on high net worth individuals and their businesses. He advises extensively on the taxation of foreign domiciled individuals. He acts for many high profile clients on a wide range of tax issues which affect the totality of their affairs.

Mr Vaines has been The Times Lawyer of the Week and in 2015 won the Tax Writer of the Year Award.

Mr Vaines’ long experience as an accountant and as a lawyer gives him a valuable extra insight into the tax aspects of different personal and corporate transactions, which clients find particularly helpful.
