Francis Ring is currently a Director of Manufacturing & Operations at Ionis Pharmaceuticals in Carlsbad, California. At Ionis, Francis leads the design and implementation of automated equipment, including oligonucleotide synthesizers, custom ultrafiltration and chromatography skids, electronic batch records, and the building automation. Francis has served as the Ionis engineering lead for multiple facility expansions, including Ionis’s new manufacturing building design, and regularly consults with Ionis partners on facility and process design topics around the world. Prior to his 18 years at Ionis, Francis earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University.
