Disebo Precious Makhetha is an experienced tax and transfer pricing professional with over 13 years in tax administration, advisory, and corporate leadership. She began her career at the South African Revenue Service (SARS) as a Tax Auditor, gaining strong technical grounding in VAT and corporate income tax audits and dispute resolution.

She later moved into professional services, holding transfer pricing roles at Ernst & Young in South Africa and Tanzania, where she managed multi-country transfer pricing projects, developed pricing policies, performed economic analyses, and supported audit defence across African jurisdictions.

At SNG Grant Thornton, Disebo advanced to Senior Manager and later Associate Director: Transfer Pricing. She established and led the firm’s transfer pricing practice, overseeing strategy, team development, technical delivery, and regional client support aligned with OECD and local regulations.

Currently, she is the Senior Manager: Tax Strategy, Planning & Transfer Pricing at MTN MoMo Head Office. She leads tax strategy for fintech operating companies across multiple African markets, focusing on corporate tax planning, transfer pricing governance, multi-jurisdictional compliance, and advising leadership on emerging risks and regulatory developments.

Disebo holds a Master of Commerce in South African and International Tax, a BCom Honours in Taxation, a BCom Accounting from the University of Johannesburg, and a BCom Law from UNISA. Her blend of regulatory, advisory, and corporate experience provides a strong, well-rounded perspective on tax governance in complex, cross-border environments.
