Erick Misiani is currently working with Menzies Aviation Ltd as the Head of Tax – Middle East, Africa & Asia (MEAA), where is in charge tax strategy, tax dispute & controversy resolution, tax advisory, tax reporting, transfer pricing inter alia.

Prior to joining Menzies Aviation Ltd, Erick held various regional tax roles including, Regional Tax Director & Head of Tax – Africa at International SOS (based in Mauritius), Regional Tax Manager – Africa at SMEC International Pty Ltd (based in Kenya), Tax Manager at Multichoice Group (based in Kenya), external auditor (Kenya), CPA lecturer (Kenya) inter alia.

Erick has represented and defended the businesses he has worked with at various Revenue Authorities in East Africa, West Africa, Southern Africa, Northern Africa and Middle East resulting in significant reduction of the ultimate tax exposures for the businesses he has worked with. He has also appeared as key witness for the business he once worked with at the Uganda Tax Appeals Tribunal (TAT), and his contribution and expert opinion significantly reduced the final exposure to the business.

Erick is one of the regular facilitator/ speakers for the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), where he shares his multi-jurisdictional tax expertise and knowledge to Kenyan Accountants/ delegates attending the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training sessions organized by ICPAK, handling various areas including international tax, VAT, customs, corporate income tax inter alia.

Erick is also passionate sharing his professional expertise and knowledge in various tax publications and, he occasionally appears in various media programs to discuss emerging tax changes in the global arena in Kenya and Mauritius.

Erick has also been involved in public advocacy and lobbying to the Kenyan Government to introduce Advance Pricing Agreement (APA) framework in Kenya, culminating into the introduction of APA framework in Kenya in 2025.

Erick holds Masters in Tax Administration & customs, Bachelor of Commerce degree and he is also a Certified Public Accountants (CPA). He is also a member of ICPAK.
