Aparna Lakshminarasimhan is the MENA Tax & Group Transfer Pricing Lead at GFG Alliance, a family-owned global conglomerate operating primarily in the steel, metals & energy space. She is based in Dubai and has more than 16+ years of tax experience, across Middle East, India, Hong Kong & Singapore – which includes big 4 and in-house stints.

In her current role, Aparna reports to the Group CFO and dons numerous hats. In addition to group transfer pricing matters, Aparna has the remit for MENA region matters (including implementation of UAE Tax), international tax structuring projects and was involved in preparatory workstreams for BEPS Pillar 2 within the organization. A part of her time is also spent in managing tax controversy matters handling Mutual Agreement Procedures (“MAP”) and Advanced Pricing Agreements (“APAs).

Aparna has spoken at numerous events in Middle East and Asia-Pacific and has authored articles for publications. She also the co-founder of Women’s tax community, a Linked-in group that endeavours to engage with and create a network of women tax leaders in the UAE.
