Chris Merjane is Senior Tax Counsel at ResMed, and heads global tax controversy, government engagement and governance on behalf of the ResMed group. Chris advocates upfront engagement and better processes to reduce the likelihood of contentious issues before they arise. Recently, Chris led the resolution of ResMed’s significant matter with the Australian Taxation Office, and has worked with Treasury and Government departments globally to encourage economic productivity and better laws. Prior to ResMed, Chris was a senior lawyer in Gilbert+Tobin and at PwC.
