Jenny recently joined as CPA Australia's Tax Lead in Policy and Advocacy. CPA Australia is Australia’s leading professional accounting body and one of the largest in the world, representing the diverse interests of more than 173,000 members in over 100 countries and regions. Jenny's role is to be responsible for developing and executing CPA Australia's policy and advocacy priorities in tax in the interests of CPA Australia's members, the profession and the public interest.
Prior to June 2024, Jenny worked at KPMG as the ASPAC Lead in ESG and Tax services with 25 years' experience in the Big 4 tax profession advising large business clients, 15 of which includes experience in corporate and international tax policy issues. Jenny retains much of the corporate memory in the development from inception of policy and law design of Australia's major tax measures and tax law interpretation. Her role involves seeking out feedback from a number of stakeholders and coordinating responses for submissions.
Jenny has also completed a number of secondments to clients in the energy and natural resources sector and developed extensive commercial experience from these engagements.
Jenny worked in the in-house global tax team over the last two years of a multinational ASX listed mining group to oversee the delivery of their global economic and tax transparency report covering matters relating to tax transparency and other ESG and tax issues. Jenny keeps abreast of the latest thinking on global tax transparency regulations, and engaged with a highly diverse and multi-disciplinary team, developing a deep matter expertise on the fast evolving subject of global tax transparency & ESG reporting.
Jenny has also been seconded to the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA) in Canberra, Australia’s peak industry body of Australia’s exploration, mining and minerals processing industry which advocates public policy and operational practice for a globally competitive minerals industry. Jenny’s role was to lead tax policy advocacy for Australia’s minerals industry in the lead up to a Federal Election.
In her role in the Economics and Tax Centre, Jenny was regularly involved KPMG thought leadership reports. Her most recent thought leadership piece in collaboration with Foodbank Australia was on an introduction of a national food waste tax incentive to reduce food waste in Australia.
