Sharon is the Head of Tax and Treasury at carsales.com Limited (ASX:CAR), Australia’s largest online automotive, motorcycle and marine classifieds business. Carsales are the global leader in digital automotive advertising, with operations across the world and interests in leading online automotive classified businesses in Brazil, South Korea, Mexico, Chile and Argentina.

In this supersized role, she is responsible for managing the tax risks for the group, executing on tax strategy, and championing taxation awareness and compliance, all while navigating the changing digital taxation landscape. On the treasury side, she manages the group’s relationships with external banks and debt markets, and drives best practice into all aspect of internal treasury operations, including working capital management and cashflow forecasting.

Prior to this, Sharon was the Global Head of Tax for Hansen Technologies, another ASX listed technology company with operations in over 20 countries. She has an extensive background in international tax advisory and consulting, gleaned from her time at Deloitte and WTS, where she advised a wide variety of multinational clients on both corporate and international tax issues. She has also had the privilege of presenting on BEPS and transfer pricing topics in various global locations over the years.

The challenge of having to be across a multitude of tax jurisdictions simultaneously and switch between tax and non-tax work areas has her excited about her role at carsales.com Ltd. She is passionate about encouraging tax professionals to broaden their horizons and embrace new skills.

She is a CPA and Chartered Tax Advisor.
