Profile

Gianni De Robertis is Head of Tax & Legal and Chief Economist of KPMG in Italy. He was previously KPMG Head of Transfer Pricing for the EMA region. Before moving to Italy Gianni has worked as a senior economist in London and in Paris.

Gianni is an economist and has provided assistance for more than 25 years to multinational companies operating in Europe, America and Asia on the economic, management and fiscal aspects of intra-firm trade and FDIs. His industry experience ranges from banking and insurance to energy and natural resources, from pharmaceuticals to fashion, luxury and fast-moving consumer sectors.

Gianni has been a consultant (on secondment) to the OECD Center of Tax Policy and Administration (2002) and participated to OECD Transfer Pricing Experts Meetings. He also participated to the EU Joint Transfer Pricing Forum (2015-19) and has participated as a trainer in the European Commission Fiscalis programme.

His main areas of expertise include: economics of taxation of MNEs, economic, fiscal and management aspects of international and intra-firm trade, international pricing analysis of product, services and intangible assets, analysis of the location of economic activities supply chain and value chain analysis of multinational corporations.

Gianni holds a Masters in Economics from the London School of Economics (UK) and a degree in Economics and Business - with distinction - from the University of Ancona (Università Politecnica delle Marche, Italy). In recent years he has been an adjunct professor of globalization, multinational corporations and FDI at the University of Bologna, University of Cassino and Università Politecnica delle Marche.
