National Leader- Global Transfer Pricing Services at KPMG

Hasnain is a Partner and serves as the National Leader for KPMG’s Global Transfer Pricing Services Practice in India. Hasnain advises clients across diverse industries, including Technology, ITES, Manufacturing, and Industrial Markets. With over 28 years of experience, he has advised numerous Indian and multinational clients on global transfer pricing matters, including the formulation of transfer pricing policies, cost allocation, intangibles, and business restructuring. He has been consistently recognized as India’s Tax Controversy Leader every year since 2016 by International Tax Review. Hasnain has extensive experience assisting clients in negotiating APAs, preparing transfer pricing documentation (including global documentation), and representing clients during transfer pricing audits and before the first appellate authority. He played a key role in negotiating India’s first IT/ITES APA as well as a renewal APA. He has successfully represented on behalf of several Industry bodies to Indian government for simplifying Safe Harbor Regulations, Block assessments, and policy changes in APA and Indian Transfer pricing regulations. His international experience includes a six-month secondment with KPMG Australia, where he was a key member of the firm’s dedicated India Business Practice.
