Michael is a Partner and leader of KPMG’s Vancouver Transfer Pricing Group, having practiced in the Transfer Pricing area for over 25 years. He is also the Firm’s former Transfer Pricing Service Line leader for Canada. Michael has worked with the Canadian Transfer Pricing rules since they came into force in 1998, and has helped clients navigate their transfer pricing issues through the early-2000’s tech bubble, the 2008 financial crisis and the subsequent BEPS changes to the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines. Prior to working in transfer pricing, Michael assisted clients with customs and international trade matters and general corporate tax.

Michael has extensive experience in transfer pricing planning and compliance engagements, providing transfer pricing guidance relevant to the tax structuring of corporate acquisitions and transfer pricing due diligence work. In addition, he has assisted many clients with audit defense, Appeals, Competent Authority and Advance Pricing Arrangements. Michael’s industry-specific transfer pricing experience includes high technology, software, life sciences, retail as well as various financial and professional services businesses.
