Mr. Newkirk is a managing director for AB CarVal and co-portfolio manager for the AB CarVal Credit Opportunities Fund. Prior to joining AB CarVal in 2015, Mr. Newkirk most recently was an executive director at UBS Securities LLC, responsible for the emerging market corporate trading business. He also worked as a director for Barclays Capital focusing on emerging market credit and derivatives trading. Mr. Newkirk has over 25 years of experience, beginning his career in 1998 at Sanford C. Bernstein in fixed income. Mr. Newkirk received his M.B.A. in finance from Columbia Business School and a B.B.A. in finance and real estate from the University of Cincinnati. In addition, he is a CFA Charterholder.
