Nick leads the competition law team at Vodafone Group. He is responsible for all competition law matters across the Vodafone business in Europe, Africa and further afield. Mergers, joint ventures, acquisitions and more recently disposals have been a large part of the team’s work across the world over the last decade, including multiple Phase 2 merger processes in a myriad of jurisdictions. Recent successes have included the CMA approval (subject to remedies) of the Vodafone/Three UK merger, approval by the Italian Competition Authority of the sale of Vodafone Italy to Swisscomm and victories in the European General Court on merger appeals against European Commission approvals of Vodafone’s acquisition of Liberty Global’s German cable business and the creation of the INWIT towerco joint venture with TIM in Italy.
