uMotif and Xperiome have partnered to provide sponsors with the capabilities to match the right patients to the correct studies and minimize delays.

The deal, of which no financial details have been disclosed, sees both firm’s aim to address the delays and downfalls that typically occur in clinical trials.

The collaboration intends to offer a new approach towards patient recruitment methods using Xperiome’s specialized matching engine to connect members to clinical trials and opportunities - and once enrolled - uMotif’s engagement app will capture large volumes of data throughout the clinical study.

“When asked, 95% of people say they'd like to take part in research but in oncology less than 5% ever get to do so, and most trials take longer than planned to recruit for,” Jeremy Edwards, Xperiome’s CEO told Clinical Insider.

“Every day that a trial runs longer costs sponsors significant sums, and that means that life-changing therapies take longer to come to market. So, a new approach is required to both help sponsors recruit quicker to trials, but also to help more people to be able to take part in research.”

Edwards told us through working with uMotif it can “provide an end-to-end solution that connects patients to research and supports them throughout their clinical trial journey.”

uMotif’s CEO Bruce Hellman echoed Edwards statement and told us “our combined solution is designed and built around patients.”

He continued: “By truly engaging patients, we're better able to identify and find engaged patients who want to make a difference and take part in research.  We then ensure they have a great experience of the trial, study, or research project - resulting in fewer dropouts and higher rates of data capture. Fundamentally, it's a solution designed for patients.”

Edwards and Hellman confirmed the program is available globally.

Xperiome uses people from various locations across the world to participate in the research studies and uMotif’s app has different hosting locations such as China that can be deployed globally.
