David Gemmell has been working for Merck for over seven years. Based in Glasgow, Scotland, he is employed as a Technical Application Specialist, focusing on downstream purification. Previous roles in Merck involved working within Merck MSAT (Manufacturing Sciences & Technology) departments providing support relating to optimising or troubleshooting downstream unit operations for European customers, relating to both novel and traditional modalities. He also has a significant insight on upstream viral risk mitigation, specifically around pasteurization systems. At University David obtained a BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering and an MSc in Advanced Chemical & Process Engineering.
