What does the future hold for shipping?

We asked industry professionals what they think will be the most radical changes in shipping in the next 3-5 years - watch the video to hear their thoughts:
'I don't think there will be any radical changes' said Niels Bruus, Head of Future Solutions, Fleet Management and Technology at Maersk Line A/S, he thinks they will happen in the next 10-50 years.
Marco Ryan, Chief Digital Officer & Executive Vice President at Wärtsilä Corporation thinks that 'the impact of things such as blockchain will be significant,' whereas Anne Katrine Bjerregaard, Head of Secretariat at Green Ship of the Future said there's so much going on in the industry right now, it's very hard to predict the future.
Lena Gothberg, The Shipping Podcast's host, pointed out that the question about digitisation is changing from 'why should we be part of it' to 'how do we become part of it.'
Geert Schouten, Director at Shipbuilder Software, thinks it's all about the people - 'technology is going fast, and the trick is how can we fine-tune the people,' while Ando Hideyuki, Senior General Manager at Monohakobi Technology Institute, NYK Line thinks we'll see a lot of collaboration.
Bhriguraj Singh, Director, Head of Documentary Trade Product Management, Global Trade and Receivables Finance at HSBC Bank Plc hopes that paper will become obsolete - 'goods will still move, ships will still be required to move those goods...hopefully without paper.'
