The Honourable Heather Stefanson was elected as the MLA for Tuxedo in 2000 and re-elected in 2003, 2007, 2011, 2016 and 2019. In 2016, Heather was appointed Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Keeper of the Great Seal of the Province of Manitoba, and Deputy Premier. In 2018, she was appointed Minister of Families and retained her role as Deputy Premier. In January 2021, Heather was appointed Minister of Health and Seniors Care before running successfully to become the leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba. She was sworn in as Manitoba’s 24th Premier on November 2, 2021 and is the first woman to hold that office. Heather also worked as an advisor in the offices of the Prime Minister, the federal Minister of Agriculture and the provincial Minister of Education.
