As announced in Information week, Intel has issued an Inspire/Empower Challenge, that will award for the amount of $100,000 to developers who come up with innovative technological solutions to improve, education, health care, economic development, or the environment. Winners will be chosen on the basis of the criteria that they show that their technology demonstrates 'sustainability and innovativeness'. Intel Chairmen and former CEO, Craig Barrett, had this to say "Technology is a tool to address some of the world's most pressing challenges related to healthcare, education, economic development and the environment. No nations or individuals are untouched by these issues. Get involved. Be part of the solution."
