1. What is your personal philosophy?
a) Always keep learning, b) always look for ways to transfer valuable ideas from one discipline into another (e.g., our FundForum session combing behavioural finance with military strategy!) and c) always accept any opportunities to do things on the fringes of your comfort zone.
2. If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
Assuming I could pick the day, and also magically acquire the ability and expertise to do the job for that day, then I’d choose something well beyond my personal limitations just to experience having those capabilities - perhaps a world class conductor on the day of a major performance.
3. Disruption is always on the tip of everyone’s tongue. In your opinion, what is going to be the ultimate game-changer for the finance industry?
It will be when we manage to effectively combine technology, data analytics, and behavioural design to deliver personalised decision support tools that help people comfortably and intuitively navigate the complexity of their whole financial lives.
4. What's your favourite thing about Berlin?
It has been over a decade since I was last in Berlin, so very much looking forward to visiting again - the Tiergarten in summer stands out… and the Berlin Philharmonic.
5. What are you most looking forward to at Fund Forum 2016?
As always, the very broad range of people, discussions and ideas you encounter.
