60 Seconds With... Sybenetix CEO Taras Chaban
We all know what they are experts on, but we want to know what makes our speakers tick. In this series, we sit down with some of our key speakers for 60 seconds to find out a bit more about them before they take to the stage at FundForum International in Berlin, 6-8 June 2016.
60 Seconds with...
Taras Chaban, CEO and Co-founder, Sybenetix
1. What is your personal philosophy?
Take chances - in the end we only regret the chances we did not take. If you win you feel great, if you lose you feel wiser.
2. If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
It would be not just job change but time travel as well. An artist, a painter in the late 19th century Paris. Truly disruptive and creative period in art.
3. Disruption is always on the tip of everyone’s tongue. In your opinion, what is going to be the ultimate game-changer for the finance industry?
I think data, analytics and technology will bring unprecedented transparency to the industry which will lead to transformation in how we identify and renumerate those who bring value and put others out of business.
4. What's your favourite thing about Berlin?
1989: as a young man growing up in Ukraine, which was then a part of the USSR, Berliners were inspiration for us all. A year later I was at a student hunger strike in Kiev and we brought down the Soviet Empire.
5. What are you most looking forward to at Fund Forum 2016?
I am looking forward to catching up with old friends from Fintech firms, meeting investment management companies. Also really looking forward to reuniting with Andreas Weigend, our brilliant keynote speaker at the Forum, who taught me AI 20 years ago.
