Martin joined Sartorius in 2008, where he is currently responsible for leading a department working on flat sheet membranes and hollow fibers for tangential flow filtration and evaluating new, innovative materials. His background is in bioprocess engineering, and he earned a PhD in natural science from the University of Hannover, Germany. He has over 15 years of experience in the product development of consumables and systems for use in the biopharmaceutical industry, including hands-on experience designing separation materials across different application areas. Martin has worked internationally across various sites and in close contact with customers to develop technologies that enable the introduction of novel product solutions for processing biopharmaceuticals. His main focuses are in the fields of tangential flow filtration, chromatography, and cell harvest applications.
