Dr Sarah L. Lovelock is an Associate Professor in Biological Chemistry at the University of Manchester. Sarah received her PhD from the University of Manchester where she worked under the supervision of Prof. Nicholas Turner. Following her PhD, she moved to GSK where she worked in the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies team, engineering enzymes for use in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. She later returned to academia and in 2020 was awarded a UKRI Future Leader Fellowship. Sarah leads a multidisciplinary research team that specializes in engineering enzymes for application in sustainable pharmaceutical manufacturing, with a specific focus on developing biocatalytic approaches to therapeutic oligonucleotides.
