Gathering over 500 senior industry professionals in Hong Kong for 3 days of networking and learning, FundForum Asia 2016 could be defined in two few words: Positivity & Disruption. Despite a year of negative headlines, our discussions were strikingly uplifting,
underlining the validity of Asia’s persistent growth story.

China, of course, loomed large: there is no getting away from it, whether from an investment or a business perspective, you ignore China at your peril. Discussions revolved around China’s economic slowdown, the internationalisation of the currency, & market liberalisation.

Another recurring theme was disruption - the impact of technology on the distribution value chain, the rise of the robo-advisors, and whether or not the industry is equipped to adapt. Again, the tone was quietly optimistic.

With a future facing agenda, covering innovative industry developments such as liquid alternatives, sustainable and green investments and addressing the alarming threat of cybersecurity, FundForum Asia was the place to be to network, debate & take the pulse of an industry in flux.
