Head of Unit – Special Unit for Combating Cartels at Bundeskartellamt

Katrin Roesen is the head of the Bundeskartellamt’s Special Unit for Combating Cartels (SKK). This unit is part of the Bundeskartellamt’s Litigation and Legal Division and advises the Decision Divisions on legal matters in fine proceedings. The SKK also assists the Decision Divisions in the preparation and execution of dawn raids. It is also the contact point for companies wishing to apply for leniency as well as for informants and public authorities with regard to possible cartel infringements.

Katrin studied law (Freiburg) and obtained a doctorate in antitrust law (Münster). After her studies she worked as a research assistant for the German Monopolies Commission. Before she became head of SKK, she worked in the Bundeskartellamt’s General Policy Division, the Litigation and Legal Division and the 5th Decision Division.
