Profile

Hugh Hopewell joined the International Energy Agency in 2024 as a Senior Energy Analyst within the World Energy Outlook team. He works closely with the Demand Sectors Unit and on projects examining resilience of the energy system. Prior to the IEA he was based in Texas where he worked with Wood Mackenzie for 17 years as an upstream analyst and data product owner. He has a background in mathematics and a PhD in high-precision gravimetry.
