Kudzai Gumunyu is an Agribusiness Finance Specialist with experience spanning Nigeria and Zimbabwe. He is currently the Divisional Head Agricultural Business Finance at First City Monument Bank. He has led the setting up the Agricultural Business Unit for the bank, advising the bank on Agricultural lending, training bank officers involved in Agribusiness finance on how to assess, package and monitor agricultural credit. Kudzai has been very innovative in introducing new products which are solving African challenges in Agribusiness finance.

Kudzai’s passion is to see the development of comparative and competitive advantages of African Agribusinesses through locally enabled Agritech innovation. Of special interest is the improvement of small holder farmers’ livelihoods through innovative value chain financing models and inclusive banking initiatives. Kudzai is an accomplished author. He published Hard Boiled Egg Index, Surviving Zimbabwe’s Hyperinflation which is a real-life experience of the daily struggles he and fellow Zimbabweans went through to survive the record-breaking hyperinflation which peaked in 2008.
