Davina Garrod co-leads Akin’s Artificial Intelligence practice, focusing on competition law and regulatory issues relating to the evolution, security and human alignment of Large Language Models (LLMs), as well as partnerships between, and investments in relation to, AI firms and other large, household name technology companies.
Davina also heads Akin’s International Antitrust & Competition team and co-heads the global Antitrust & International Competition Group. Davina represents investors (including sovereign wealth funds), private equity houses and other global financial institutions, portfolio companies and multinationals in complex multijurisdictional merger control & foreign investment (FDI)/national security/foreign subsidies investigations.
Davina is well recognised across both the firm and industry as a leader in antitrust and competition law. She is highly ranked across Chambers Global, Europe and UK and The Legal 500 guides, with the latter praising her for her “encyclopedic understanding of competition and merger control laws” and her “in-depth understanding of the regulatory landscape in markets.” She is also recognised by Who’s Who Legal as a leading Foreign Investment lawyer.
