Lizzy Murphy-Dunne is Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Non-Financial Risk at the European Investment Fund (EIF), part of the EIB Group. She works directly with the Board of Directors, Audit Board and executive leadership on governance, institutional integrity, compliance, operational resilience and emerging risks, including the governance implications of AI and new technologies.

Her career spans compliance, internal audit, operational risk and corporate governance across European and international financial institutions. She brings a distinctive multilateral development bank perspective to the challenges of translating evolving regulation into effective governance and risk frameworks, with a particular interest in AI, cybersecurity, geopolitical risk, institutional resilience and trust.

Lizzy is also the founder of initiatives promoting girls’ participation in sport and women’s leadership, reflecting her broader commitment to inclusion and leadership.

Her core interest lies in how financial institutions can harness AI and technological change while maintaining effective governance, accountability and institutional trust—and in the evolving role of multilateral development banks in navigating the opportunities and risks of a rapidly changing world.
