Maria Boulieri is Lead Privacy Counsel at Chiesi Group, a global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Parma, Italy. With a background in both law and technology, she works on data protection and privacy compliance across multiple EU affiliates, supporting Chiesi’s international operations. She is also an active member of the company’s internal AI Committee, contributing to governance and operational strategies around the responsible use of AI.

Previously, Maria worked in both consultancy and law firm environments, advising primarily pharmaceutical clients on complex legal matters involving data protection, emerging technologies, and intellectual property. She holds a Master’s in International and European Legal Studies and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Law & AI at the Brussels School of Competition.

Maria is CIPP/E and CIPM certified, a member of the European Data Protection Board’s Support Pool of Experts, and actively contributed to the General-Purpose AI Code of Practice Drafting Group of the European AI Office.

Deeply committed to responsible tech governance, Maria also serves as Regional Chapter Chair in Greece for Women in AI Governance (WiAIG), where she volunteers to raise awareness and bring together the community around this topic.
