Moya Novella is Global Privacy and AI Counsel at IBM, where she advises on the organization’s advocacy strategy for emerging global privacy and artificial intelligence regulations. She leads cross-functional efforts for providing strategic input on global privacy and AI policymaking initiatives. Moya advises on the compliance impact of privacy and AI legal requirements and supports AI ethics initiatives that drive IBM's thought leadership on responsible AI. Moya also serves as Adjunct Professor of Privacy Law at Albany Law School in New York where she develops and instructs courses in data privacy law and emerging AI ethics issues. Moya holds CIPP/E and CIPP/US privacy certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She was named the National Association of Women Lawyers' 2025 Rising List honoree, which recognizes attorneys committed to advancing leadership and advocacy in the law profession. Views are her own.
