Minami Maeda serves as the President of Rakuten Medical, Inc., Representative Director and Vice Chairman of Rakuten Medical K.K., and Chairman of Rakuten Medical Taiwan, Inc. Since joining Rakuten Medical in 2017, Minami has played a pivotal role in establishing a scalable business model in commercial settings, building robust supply chains, advancing drug & device pipeline development, and leading constructive engagement with governmental and regulatory authorities. His keen ability to identify the needs of the medical community and align them with technological advancements has significantly contributed to Rakuten Medical's global growth and innovation. Before Rakuten Medical, Minami has established his business and public policy expertise through working at McKinsey & Company’s Tokyo and Johannesburg office, and later serving as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare, as well at the Prime Minister's Office of Japan. Minami holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Public Policy.
