Damon is an Assistant General Counsel at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), where he serves as the primary legal advisor and subject matter expert for all antitrust and competition matters across the enterprise. In his role at SPE, he coordinates with legal, business, corporate development, and compliance teams to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive, company-wide strategies, policies, and procedures related to antitrust and competition. He also regularly interfaces with key external constituents, including the DOJ, FTC, and relevant state regulators in connection with company and third-party transactions, and other competition-related issues.
Before joining SPE, Damon was a partner at Steptoe in the Washington D.C. office, where his practice encompassed all aspects of antitrust and competition law, including counseling, private litigation, class action defense, cartel investigations, Hart-Scott-Rodino compliance and representing clients in connection with mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and civil investigations.
Prior to joining the partnership at Steptoe, Damon served as antitrust counsel for Cigna. Among his many antitrust responsibilities at Cigna, he was the primary internal antitrust counsel for Cigna’s acquisition of Express Scripts. Before joining Cigna, Damon spent a number of years in private practice at Steptoe and Fried Frank in Washington D.C. Earlier in his career, he also served as a Trial Attorney at the DOJ’s Antitrust Division in Washington D.C. and a Law Clerk at the FTC’s Northwest Regional Office.
