Henry Thaggert is the Associate General Counsel for Antitrust at Gilead Sciences, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Foster City, California. He joined the company in September 2023, as its first US-based antitrust counsel. Before Gilead, Henry worked at Northrop Grumman Corporation, the Aerospace & Defense contractor, where he developed that company’s first risk-based antitrust compliance program, and later focused on global corporate compliance and responsible A.I.
Henry began his legal career in the Honors Program at the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division. He later worked at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission where he was the primary drafter of the FCC’s process for reviewing the first Internet mergers.
Henry earned his B.A. from Tulane University, his law degree from New York University School of Law, and a master’s degree from NYU graduate school. After graduating from NYU, he studied law in Great Britain on a J. William Fulbright Scholarship.
In 2019, Global Competition Review recognized Henry as a “Global Leader” in antitrust law.
