Profile
James is an antitrust litigation partner and trial lawyer at Milbank LLP. Before joining Milbank in 2024, James was Chief Trial Counsel for the Federal Trade Commission, where he litigated and tried some of the government’s largest antitrust cases, including FTC v. Microsoft/Activision, FTC v. Kroger/Albertsons, FTC v. Sanofi/Maze, and FTC v. AbbVie, Inc.. In eighteen years of practice, he has led or been part of teams that have taken more than a dozen cases to verdict or judgment. James represents clients in government and private litigation and advises client on antitrust litigation risk in a variety of contexts. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his B.A. from Yale University, and he clerked for Judge Danny Boggs of the U.S. Court of the Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
