Ryota INABA is the Director of the Office of Policy Planning & Research for Digital Markets at the JFTC, leading the Commission’s competition policy in the digital sphere including a series of market studies on online platforms and legislative efforts to address competition issues. He previously served as Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the JFTC. Since joining the JFTC in 2005, Ryota has addressed a wide range of competition issues in various areas including finance, transportation and digital services, and from 2014 to 2017, served as a liaison officer (First Secretary) at the Embassy of Japan in Washington DC.
