Profile
Steve Vieux brings extensive experience in antitrust litigation and counseling from both the public and private sectors. Steve started his career with the Federal Trade Commission, where he played leading roles in antitrust investigations and litigation focusing on the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. As a result of his work at the FTC, Steve received the prestigious Janet D. Steiger award on two occasions for his contributions to government enforcement actions and litigation. Besides managing law enforcement actions, Steve also participated in key policy initiatives addressing antitrust issues in healthcare. One such initiative involved leading an inter-agency team, which analyzed the potential competitive effects of joint ventures among large health systems operating under a pilot DHHS program. He also provided technical advice to foreign enforcers on competition issues in the healthcare sector.
Since entering private practice, Steve has represented and advised clients in diverse industries, ranging from healthcare to automotive and technology. Prior to joining Bartko, Steve worked at the primarily defense-focused national law firm of Shook, Hardy & Bacon. As well as litigating commercial cases, including antitrust matters, he offers clients specialized counseling on antitrust, consumer and privacy law issues. Steve has also guided clients, including as third parties, in propounding and responding to complex and sensitive discovery requests in private and government antitrust litigation.
