Valerie K. Balch joined the Washington State Attorney General’s Office in 2014 after a clerkship with the Honorable Marybeth Dingledy. She is currently an Assistant Attorney General in the Antitrust Division, focusing on litigation and labor issues. Valerie has worked on antitrust issues surrounding non-competition covenants, no-poach agreements, and franchising. While serving as an Assistant Attorney General, Valerie has also represented the Employment Security Department, the Department of Social and Health Services, the Department of Licensing, and the Department of Labor and Industries. Valerie graduated magna cum laude from Seattle University School of Law, where she competed in mock trial, was on the Law Review, and served as President of the ACLU at SU. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington, where she studied Law, Societies, and Justice, and Human Rights.
