Climate Resilience and Humanitarian Program Manager
CARE International in Vietnam

Mr. Lê Xuân Hiếu, a senior program manager at CARE International in Vietnam, where he plays a pivotal role in advancing inclusive, sustainable development. With over 30 years of experience in agriculture and community development, Hiếu has led major initiatives focusing on improving livelihoods, building climate resilience, and promoting gender equality. A significant part of his work has focused on transforming Vietnam’s coffee sector, especially in the Northwest region. Hiếu has supported ethnic minority farmers—particularly women—in shifting from conventional farming to sustainable coffee cultivation and access higher-value markets.

An expert in agricultural economics, Hiếu holds two bachelor’s degrees—in Agricultural Economics (Vietnam National University of Agriculture) and International Economics (Hanoi Foreign Trade University). His interdisciplinary background strengthens his ability to design integrated, market-based solutions that are both economically viable and socially inclusive, with a special focus on specialty coffee and supporting cooperatives owned by women as key pathways to sustainable rural transformation.
