Pacita “Chit” Juan has been in the coffee industry for over 25 years now, having founded a coffee shop chain in 1993, and moving to become the President of the non-stock, non-profit industry organization The Philippine Coffee Board Inc. (PCBI) in 2002 to present. She has travelled to many coffee origins in the Philippines, Southeast Asia, South and Central America and Africa as part of her advocacy in promoting Philippine coffee.
She is the a member of the International Board of IWCA(www.womenincoffee.org)-, and Founding President of the International Women’s Coffee Alliance Philippine chapter, and also sits as Vice President of the ASEAN Coffee Federation (www.aseancoffee.org).
She has written a few books on coffee: Kape in 2002, Barako:The Big Bean in 2005 and Introduction to Coffee, later retitled The Barista Manual in 2011 and a book on Cacao: Bean to Bar 2013.
She is a columnist of The Philippine Star, writing her opinions on sustainability, food, culture and coffee.
