Asset & Liability Management for Banks

Recognise and manage risks to increase profitability and shareholder value

Sign up now for the Asset & Liability Management for Banks training course

Post-Covid supply chain constrictions, the Ukraine crisis and energy price escalations has led to a rapid rise in inflation and forced central banks to raise interest rates sharply. The previous extended period of Quantitative Easing (QE) has gone and the scale of the new tightening has started to demonstrate that some of those banks that attempted to snare new business in the technology sector had poor asset liability management knowledge. Failures at Silvergate Bank and Silicon Valley Bank, to name just two in the US, were all failures in good asset-liability management.

It has never been more important for banks to understand and apply the current lessons and ensure that they are constantly vigilant in the management of their balance sheets and profit loss accounts.
