Atty. Daniel Hofileña is a founding partner of Kalaw Prasad & Hofileña law. Prior to KPH Law, he was a Senior Consultant at the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines - Office of the Director General (Intellectual Property Academy), where he was responsible for assisting in critical policy decisions, conducting ground-breaking research, and training IPOPHL’s stakeholders. He also practiced law with his father, Atty. Saul Hofileña, and was an associate at Tolosa Javier Law.

He graduated Honorable Mention with a management degree at the De La Salle University-Manila. He also has a diploma in banking from the Ateneo de Manila University, a Masters in Applied Economics from De La Salle University-Manila, and a Juris Doctor degree with a major in Intellectual Property from the Ateneo de Manila University (Second Honors). He finished his Masters of Laws in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) at the Centre for International Dispute Settlement, a joint venture of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies of Geneva and the University of Geneva Law School.

He is an accredited arbitrator and the Assistant Deputy Secretary General for Education and Training of the Philippine International Center for Conflict Resolution. He is likewise accredited as an arbitrator and mediator by the Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution of the Department of Justice of the Philippines. He is also a trained arbitrator of the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc. Finally, he successfully passed both the Initial Entry Course and the Fellowship Assessment Course administered by the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.

He is also a member of the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators, the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, and the Economic Society of Singapore.

He is the Associate Editor of the Asia-Pacific Journal of I.P. Management and Innovation. He has published numerous articles in journals and presented papers in conferences in the Philippines, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, and China on economics and intellectual property.

He is a lecturer of Public International Law, Private International Law, and Credit Transactions at the Centro Escolar University-School of Law and Jurisprudence. Since 2012, he has been teaching at the Commercial Law Department and the School of Economics of the De la Salle University-Manila, handling such diverse subjects as Business Law, Corporation Law, Statistics, Financial Econometrics, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics.

He has lectured on intellectual property in numerous workshops conducted by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines and has been invited to lecture in the world-renowned summer school of the World Intellectual Property Organization. He taught strategic management of copyright for the Basic Diploma in Intellectual Property of De La Salle University, which was supported by USAID and RTI International. He has been invited as a keynote speaker by the Young Economists’ Convention. He has likewise conducted training sessions on intellectual property for the Philippine Trade and Training Center of the Department of Trade and Industry, the Local Government Academy of the Department of Interior and Local Government, the Civil Service Institute of the Civil Service Commission, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and numerous colleges and universities.

He has also lectured on alternative dispute resolution in seminars hosted by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, the Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution, the Young Philippine Institute of Arbitrators, the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center Inc., and the Philippine International Center for Conflict Resolution.

Currently, he serves as Chairman of the committee on ways and means of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines- Cavite Chapter.
