Succession and other family disputes are often the most hard fought of disputes, with fraud allegations made frequently. Our panellists discuss how to deal with an enraged opponent (or client), what strategies parties deploy when their anger supersedes reason, and how to respond, how to manage costs in these hard fought cases, and how to bring them to a conclusion. We will cover the special challenges that often exist in family disputes, from mandatory inheritance rules, through to clashing jurisdictional arguments when it comes to probate and family law.

Victims of fraud often think that a criminal investigation will get them justice – but what does justice look like? Our panellists discuss whether criminal processes lead to effective asset recovery, how they interact with civil proceedings, and the pros and cons of going to authorities or starting the victim's own civil or insolvency process.
