Profile

Aysha is a highly skilled and experienced litigator, mediator and arbitrator. She is a Bahraini lawyer with right of audience before the Cassation and the Constitutional Courts of Bahrain. She is an international arbitration practitioner and lawyer with more than 15 years of experience in litigation and international arbitration. She holds a bachelor’s degree in law from ASU University and a master’s degree in international dispute resolution from Queen Mary University London. She also holds a diploma in Management and Leadership from the Chartered Managers Institute (CMI) in the United Kingdom.

Aysha sits on a number of boards including, the International Chamber of Commerce National committee of Bahrain, the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution and the Women Research Centre at the Royal University of Women. She is also the chairperson of the ICC ADR and Arbitration Committee of Bahrain. In addition to her role as a board member in various international institutions, she represents Bahrain on the Panel for arbitrators and conciliators at ICSID and represents Bahrain in UNICTRAL Working Groups two and three.

Ms. Mutaywea served on the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Court of Arbitration for six years. She sits regularly as arbitrator and mediator in international cases. Aysha has extensive experience in international arbitration and has served as case manager, tribunal secretary, expert, sole arbitrator and president. She has served as arbitrator in more than 30 international arbitration cases under various institutional rules such as ICC, LCIA, SIAC, DIAC, BCDR, SCCA, GCC-AC and others.

Aysha is the first Bahraini arbitrator to be admitted to the Court of Sports Arbitration (CAS) and continues to sit as arbitrator at CAS today. She specializes in sports law and disputes internationally and has worked on cases at CAS, FIBA, IHF, FIFA and NSAT.

Aysha is high level legal professional and specialises in civil, commercial, corporate, finance (Islamic and non-Islamic), banking, franchise, corporate governance, technology, sports, telecommunication, real estate, construction, infrastructure and aviation disputes in the Middle East Region. Ms Mutaywea has extensive experience with the laws of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Yemen, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt.
