Speaker

Profile

Ros heads our market leading fraud and asset recovery team. She has extensive experience of obtaining and defending injunctions, including freezing orders, and enforcing judgments and arbitration awards. Both The Legal 500 and Chambers UK list her as a 'Leading Individual', with Chambers & Partners' global 'Asset Tracing & Recovery' guide including her as one of just 8 individuals in the world to be ranked in Band 1.

She has acted on many of the largest claims heard by the English courts in recent years. Clients praise her strategic vision and commitment to her clients, with the current edition of Chambers UK reporting: "Ros is phenomenal" and Legal 500 UK reporting that she is: "the indisputable leader in the field, racing far ahead of everyone else".

Ros has particular expertise in complex, cross border investigations, fraud litigation and enforcement of awards. She has acted for and against sovereign states and has particular expertise in state immunity, in respect of which she has recently obtained the leading English judgment determining that issue estoppel can apply in the context of state immunity. Clients call on her to enforce awards and judgments against difficult debtors, including recalcitrant states.

She is a solicitor-advocate with full rights of audience before the English High Court. Ros’ expertise is highly regarded internationally, and she has been asked to speak on fraud, asset recovery and rule of law related topics at events organised by the United Nations, the Commonwealth Secretariat, and governments.
