In the consumer space, firms like Apple and Google provide infrastructure including operating systems and app stores that enable the mobile experience. OpenFin, in turn, provides analogous infrastructure tuned for the needs of the financial industry - and Mitra is responsible for OpenFin branding, marketing, events and media relations. The founders of OpenFin, Mazy Dar and Chuck Doerr, had a vision of fundamentally improving desktop technology for financial markets.

By marketing OpenFin OS and OpenFin’s Workspace interface to customers, Mitra has had a positive impact on OpenFin’s growth and overall FinTech Community.

It is hard to overstate Mitra’s impact on the FinTech community evidenced by her leadership at OpenFin, her tireless involvement in building a community of users and her dedication in developing the world’s largest JavaScript for Finance conference, FinJS; which has become a central venue for networking and showcasing FinTech innovations across Capital Markets. She also coordinated the rebrand of the OpenFin website in 2021 to tie into the new Workspace brand identity, and organised a highly successful inaugural keynote event. Critical impact on the financial services sector In 2015, she founded the company's flagship conference, FinJS, which has since hosted thousands of professionals across the globe. In 2020, Mitra was also integral in launching OpenFin’s new Certified Developer Program. In addition, Mitra is committed to engaging with the FinTech community.

During lockdown, Mitra took the initiative to offer its customers and community various virtual means to continue to meet, discuss, and showcase innovations and thought leadership. She has now established hybrid options for all of OpenFin’s events, to allow access to all that want to participate. Moreover, Mitra produces regular webinars, giving OpenFin customers a platform to share their innovations with the OpenFin Community; she personally recruits partners and speakers from across the industry. Her personal brand and the strength of her relationships are a key reason for the success of the events and their crucial role they play in fostering industry collaboration.
