Mitra Roknabadi, Vice President and Global Head of Marketing, OpenFin
Mitra Roknabadi is Vice President and Global Head of Marketing at OpenFin, the financial industry’s operating system. Within finance, the number of firms utilizing OpenFin technology has grown from 2,400 to 3,800 since the launch of Workspace 16 months ago. Today, OpenFin is used by 90% of global financial institutions, including banks, buy-side and sell-side firms and the global vendor community.
In the consumer space, firms like Apple and Google provide infrastructure including operating systems and app stores that enable the mobile experience. OpenFin, in turn, provides analogous infrastructure tuned for the needs of the financial industry - and Mitra is responsible for OpenFin branding, marketing, events and media relations. The founders of OpenFin, Mazy Dar and Chuck Doerr, had a vision of fundamentally improving desktop technology for financial markets.
This included the way applications are developed and deployed across the industry, and ultimately the way in which the industry collaborates and innovates. By marketing OpenFin OS and OpenFin’s Workspace interface to customers, Mitra has had a positive impact on OpenFin’s growth and overall FinTech Community.
In 2020, Mitra was also integral in launching OpenFin’s new Certified Developer Program. The program was created to share the OpenFin ecosystem with the development community at large by providing data access of OpenFin products to development partners so that products can be tested either before going live or any scheduled upgrades. In addition, Mitra is committed to engaging with the FinTech community.
During lockdown, Mitra took the initiative to offer its customers and community various virtual means to continue to meet, discuss, and showcase innovations and thought leadership. She has now established hybrid options for all of OpenFin’s events, to allow access to all that want to participate. Moreover, Mitra produces regular webinars, giving OpenFin customers a platform to share their innovations with the OpenFin Community; she personally recruits partners and speakers from across the industry. Her personal brand and the strength of her relationships are a key reason for the success of the events and their crucial role they play in fostering industry collaboration. Mitra’s marketing and community building efforts at OpenFin have been instrumental in establishing the company as a leader in collaboration and enabling innovation across the industry.
