Paul Schaus is the Managing Partner and Founder of CCG Catalyst, a boutique bank consulting and research advisory firm serving banks, credit unions, and fintechs across the United States and globally. With more than 30 years of experience as a banker, management consultant, and strategist — including 20+ years in bank executive management and 15+ years in consulting — Paul has advised over 600 clients across the US, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Under his leadership, CCG Catalyst provides strategic guidance on business planning, core modernization, payments, digital transformation, de novo banking, mergers and acquisitions, and technology selection. The firm is a recognized thought leader, producing high-impact research on AI in banking, digital transformation, and core modernization, and excels in managing complex core system conversions for clients ranging from community banks to complex regional and global banks.
Paul also founded the Bankers Fintech Council, a collaborative platform — in partnership with CCG Catalyst and the Arizona Bankers Association — that bridges traditional financial institutions and fintech innovators. The Council convenes community, regional, super-regional, and money-center banks alongside stakeholders from the US Department of Commerce, international trade delegations, state governments, and academia including Arizona State University to address regulatory compliance, technology integration, and competitive strategy.
