Dr. Hosam El-Gepaly is a Professor of Biological Control at the Plant Protection Research Institute, ARC, Egypt, with over 23 years of experience in biological control and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). He specializes in sustainable alternatives to chemical pesticides and applied biological control programs. He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences from Minia University and has served as a National Biological Control Consultant for the FAO, contributing to national and regional projects, particularly on Fall Armyworm management in Egypt. Dr. El-Gepaly is recognised for his work on egg parasitoids, including the discovery and reporting of Telenomus remus in Egypt, and has extensive expertise in mass rearing and field application of Trichogramma and other beneficial insects. He has trained hundreds of agricultural professionals and contributed to advancing sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, and food security through innovative IPM and biological control strategies.
