Getting to Copenhagen
Copenhagen, located in Northern Europe, sits at the heart of the region, with major cities such as Berlin and Amsterdam within accessible reach.
Thanks to excellent connections to key European hubs, getting to Copenhagen is remarkably straightforward. Whether you start your journey from a railway station, an international airport, or prefer to travel by car or bus, there are many convenient routes to reach the city.
Once you arrive, Copenhagen offers a wonderful blend of calm Scandinavian living and exciting exploration, along with practical options for getting around so you can make the most of your visit.
By Train
Copenhagen boasts excellent connectivity to other Danish cities and major European capitals. Convenient train and ferry connections link the city with nearby hubs, making travel to and from Copenhagen easy and stress-free.
If you’re visiting, consider arriving by train at København H (Copenhagen Central Station), which is centrally located and well connected to the city’s public transport network. From there, you can reach Copenhagen’s lively areas and historic neighborhoods quickly by metro, bus, or train, or choose a taxi or rideshare for the rest of your journey.
International Train Travel
Copenhagen Central Station—known in Danish as København H—serves as Denmark’s main hub for international rail travel. Located just outside Copenhagen’s most historic core, the station connects the city with major destinations across Northern and Western Europe.
Daytime, long‑distance services arrive here regularly from cities such as Berlin and Hamburg, as well as other key hubs in the region. You can also reach Copenhagen via well‑connected routes that make onward travel across Europe straightforward.
In addition, overnight train options may be available for travelers headed to and from Western Europe. Operators can run direct night services with intermediate stops—so be sure to check the latest timetable for the most up‑to‑date routes and departure times.
National Train Travel
From major Danish cities such as Aarhus, Odense, Aalborg, and Esbjerg, frequent direct services run to København H (Copenhagen Central Station) and København Hellerup.
For schedules and ticketing, visitors are advised to check DSB (and other Danish rail operators) or other European rail providers for the most up-to-date route details.
By Plane: Copenhagen Airport (CPH)
Copenhagen Airport is Denmark’s main international airport, serving flights from destinations across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia.
