Pavel is an experienced R&D Tax Advisor, registered with the Australian Tax Practitioners Board.

Coming from a strong Science and research background, he is currently enjoying his role as a R&D Tax Advisor, having made the transition from academia to consulting almost 17 years ago.

Being fortunate to have worked for a Big 4 consulting firm (6 years) and a highly respected Australian R&D Tax Consultancy (4 years), Pavel combines his extensive teaching and research experience with his deep knowledge of Research and Development Tax and the associated law, and enjoys bringing this unique combination of skills to the R&D Tax arena.

Pavel is passionate about working with companies across a diverse range of industries. These companies range from small start-ups to listed multi-nationals. He has been effective in establishing relationships with various stakeholders within companies to prepare and lodge R&D Tax Incentive claims that deliver maximum benefit to these companies.

More recently, Pavel has had many opportunities to engage with a number global entities – ranging from government departments, incubators and accelerators, and tech companies across multiple sectors.

These are across the China, EU, Singapore, South Korea, UK, and the USA.

Pavel’s varied experience and background afford him a distinctive and unique advantage in identifying eligible R&D activities within a range of industry sectors.

His consulting experience spans a number of industry sectors, including life sciences, IT, food and beverage, engineering and manufacturing. He has defended the R&D Tax claims of numerous clients, and has successfully prepared and lodged a number of Advance and Overseas Findings for clients.

Pavel was awarded a PhD in Biological Sciences, and in previous roles, has lectured at three different tertiary institutions over a period of 18 years, simultaneously undertaking both personal and collaborative research. This research culminated in the publication of many peer-reviewed journal articles in scientific journals, as well as presentations at a number of international conferences.
