The video discussed the need for mandatory guidelines on biofouling, citing the then-current voluntary guidelines. A review of the existing guidelines took place in 2020, which lead to discussions about implementing mandatory regulations. The review focused on assessing the adequacy of the existing guidelines and considered broader revisions if deemed necessary.
